Starting with a Liberty Shed is a good start!
Converting sheds into tiny homes or for uses such as a business office is a popular trend. Well-built sheds, like the ones you can find at Liberty Sheds can provide a solid foundation and cut down on much of the work compared to starting from scratch. But in today’s world, when we watch TV shows where contractors renovate an entire house in an hour or follow social media accounts where bakers whip up a highly-decorated three-tier wedding cake in 3 minutes flat, we need to acknowledge that things aren’t always that simple.
When using a shed for dwelling or commercial purposes, it’s important to understand what is for the permitting process. It is still important to do your research and know all that is entailed in your project – from the detailed residential code requirements to your finishing touches, you will want to consider the work and cost involved in completing a shed-to-home conversion
We aim to give you a roadmap of expectations and considerations for a proper shed conversion process in North Carolina.

Siding Materials
Smart Sheds Have Smart Siding
Painted and Urethane Stained Shed Siding
Our sheds are loaded with amazing standard features, many of which other companies consider upgrades or options. We partner with the best suppliers in the industry to offer you the highest quality materials so that your investment stands the test of time.
With its rich cedar grain exterior, this siding is not only aesthetically pleasing, it is exceptionally practical. It is free of knots and patches; resists splitting and cracking; and is treated with a SmartGuard® process that protects against rot and termites. NASA has even tested this amazing product - check it out on YouTube!
At Liberty, we go one step further by offering these panels with SilverTech®, a finish-grade radiant barrier that helps reduce the sun’s radiant energy through the panels. This highly reflective surface brightens the interior of the sheds and helps them stay cooler for storing items or working inside. And did we mention this is a STANDARD feature and not an option? Now, that is SMART!
Vinyl Shed Siding
When it comes to vinyl siding, CertainTeed has been an industry leader for over 100 years. With their exceptional value and versatility, their MainStreet line features the benefits of low-maintenance living. Reinforced with PermaColor™ for lifetime fade protection, this siding is designed to stay beautiful with little effort. With a wide variety of standard and optional colors available, you open a wide world of color and style options to express your personal design preferences.
All vinyl siding also comes standard with thermal radiant barrier to brighten the interior while helping the shed stay cooler. You can certainly rest assured knowing that your family will enjoy the beautiful backyard sanctuary you have created for years to come.
Flooring Material
You’ll Be Floored!
We build with strong foundations. When it comes to flooring, you want it tough. And that’s what we offer with LP® Legacy® flooring.
This 3/4” thick flooring is Gorilla tough and rain forest tested. LP’s exclusive collaboration with the Gorilla Glue company allows wood strands to be coated with waterproof resins using Gorilla Glue technology in order to provide maximum moister resistance and superior strength and stiffness. That’s why we use LP® Legacy® flooring.
As the only shed dealer in North Carolina to offer this incredible material as a standard feature, it is fitting that this flooring is made locally, right here in North Carolina!
